Kendall doesn’t have its own AHA training location, but it’s a straightforward drive from one: PulseStart’s Doral location is roughly 14 miles from Baptist Hospital of Miami, typically 20 to 25 minutes via the Palmetto Expressway (SR-826) or the Don Shula Expressway (SR-874) outside rush hour. Nurses, EMTs, paramedics, and nursing students throughout Kendall make that drive for same-day AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification — or book PulseStart to bring the class to their unit, campus, or office instead.
Kendall is one of the densest healthcare corridors in Miami-Dade. Baptist Hospital of Miami, the flagship of Baptist Health South Florida, anchors the area, with HCA Florida Kendall Hospital a few miles south. Between the two campuses — and the outpatient clinics, urgent cares, and physician offices around them — Kendall employs a large clinical workforce whose jobs require a current BLS, ACLS, or PALS card. Add Miami Dade College’s Kendall Campus, which runs its own School of Nursing, and Florida International University’s Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences along the area’s western edge, and the corridor also produces a steady stream of nursing and EMT students who need a BLS for Healthcare Providers card before clinical rotations.
Kendall itself isn’t a single city but a sprawling census-designated area, with the Dadeland Mall trade area drawing on a large surrounding population. That means our Kendall bookings aren’t only hospital badges — retail and property managers around Dadeland Mall and the Downtown Dadeland high-rise corridor book CPR/AED training for security and guest-services staff too, alongside the healthcare and student crowd.

From Baptist Hospital and the Kendall Drive corridor, SR-826 (Palmetto Expressway) runs north toward Doral; from HCA Florida Kendall Hospital or the MDC Kendall Campus farther south, SR-874 (Don Shula Expressway) connects into SR-826. Either way, budget 20 to 25 minutes outside rush hour and closer to 35 to 40 during the morning or evening commute.
If a 28-mile round trip doesn’t work for a shift or a class-sized group, you don’t have to make it. On-site training is available across Miami-Dade for hospitals, clinics, and schools, Kendall included — request a quote through corporate training.
Hospital and clinical schedules rarely run 9-to-5. Our Doral location runs Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with Saturday sessions by appointment, and on-site training can be scheduled around your unit’s shifts. Same-day certification is standard for BLS: pass the skills check and leave with an official AHA eCard, not a “certificate pending” email.
How far is PulseStart from Baptist Hospital of Miami? About 14 miles, typically a 20-to-25-minute drive north on SR-826 outside rush hour.
I’m a nursing student at MDC Kendall or FIU — which course do I need? Most nursing and EMT programs require BLS for Healthcare Providers before clinical rotations. Our BLS course is AHA-issued; confirm the exact requirement with your program before booking, since some programs are specific about the card type. See also CPR certification for nursing students.
Can PulseStart certify our whole unit on-site? Yes — on-site training is available across Miami-Dade for hospital units, clinics, and healthcare groups. Request a quote via corporate training.
Is there a faster route than SR-826 during rush hour? SR-874 (Don Shula Expressway) is a tolled alternative that can help if you’re coming from south Kendall, though both routes back up during peak commute hours.
Do you offer ACLS and PALS in the HeartCode blended format? Yes. Complete the online cognitive portion on your own schedule, then come to the Doral location for the in-person skills session. See HeartCode skills sessions in Miami.
ACLS and PALS are HeartCode® blended courses: the AHA online portion is purchased separately from the American Heart Association (currently $173) and completed before the in-person skills session. See the healthcare certification hub for the full breakdown.
