Miami Lakes is one of the closest service areas to PulseStart’s Doral training location — about 9 miles, typically 15 to 20 minutes via the Palmetto Expressway (SR-826), which interchanges directly with NW 154th Street on the way into town. That short a trip means Miami Lakes is one of the few areas where booking a seat at our Doral location — an American Heart Association Training Site, and an American Red Cross and ASHI Training Center — and booking an on-site class are close to equally convenient, so which one makes sense usually comes down to group size and schedule rather than distance.
Miami Lakes isn’t an organically grown suburb; it’s a master-planned community the Graham Companies began building on former dairy land in the 1960s, and the town wasn’t incorporated until 2000 — making its municipal government younger than a lot of its own street trees. That single-developer history is why the town still runs like a well-organized campus: Business Park East and Business Park West, developed and still managed by Graham Commercial, together account for a substantial share of the town’s commercial space. A few minutes away, Main Street Miami Lakes does the same planned-community job for retail and civic life, combining shops, restaurants, a hotel, a movie theater, and Town Hall in one walkable block. Miami Lakes reads more like a small, tightly run town than a typical Miami-Dade suburb — part of why household and HOA-level CPR training shows up here in a way it doesn’t in denser or more industrial parts of the county. Classes run in English and Spanish.

Palmetto General Hospital sits just across the municipal line in neighbouring Hialeah, close enough that Miami Lakes residents functionally share it as the local hospital. Inside Miami Lakes itself, the town’s identity as a planned community shows up in its recreation infrastructure: HOA-run pools and clubhouses, town parks, and youth sports leagues all keep staff who benefit from a current CPR/AED card, separate from the office workforce in the business parks. Neighbouring Hialeah Gardens, a smaller city bordering Miami Lakes to the southwest, draws on much of the same mix of business-park employees and residential families.
From most of Miami Lakes, NW 154th Street connects directly to the Palmetto Expressway southbound, which reaches NW 72nd Avenue in about 15 to 20 minutes outside rush hour. For a Business Park East or West office, that’s often close enough that sending two or three employees to the Doral location is simpler than scheduling an on-site visit. For a bigger group — a whole department, an HOA’s pool staff, or a youth league’s coaches — on-site training is available, with PulseStart bringing instructors and equipment to your office or clubhouse instead. Business park offices tend to book around the workweek, and our Doral location runs Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with Saturday sessions by appointment. Families who want to certify as a household usually ask for one of those Saturday appointments — call and we will arrange it. ACLS and PALS use the HeartCode blended format, so staff finish the online portion before a shorter in-person skills session.
How far is Miami Lakes from the Doral training location? About 9 miles, typically 15 to 20 minutes via the Palmetto Expressway (SR-826), which connects directly to NW 154th Street.
Can a Business Park office book a lunchtime CPR/AED class? Yes. The short drive makes the Doral location realistic for a lunch-hour trip for one or two employees, and on-site sessions are available at your office for larger groups. See corporate training.
What course fits an office that just wants one designated responder rather than full BLS? The CPR/AED Certification course is built for exactly that.
Does PulseStart certify HOA pool and clubhouse staff? Yes — HOA pool attendants, clubhouse staff, and similar recreation employees regularly book CPR/AED with First Aid, either at the Doral location or on-site at the community.
Can a family get certified together on a weekend? We hold Saturday sessions by appointment. Call (786) 292-8277 with a couple of workable Saturdays and we will confirm one. See weekend CPR classes in Miami.
ACLS and PALS are HeartCode® blended courses: the AHA online portion is purchased separately from the American Heart Association (currently $173) and completed before the in-person skills session. See the healthcare certification hub for the full breakdown.
